NWS: Monday’s Storm Latest Measurable Snow on Record

(Pasco, WA) — Monday morning’s snowstorm has set a new record in the Tri-Cities. According to the National Weather Service, this is the latest we have ever seen measurable snow on record. The old mark came in at April 1st, 1935. The service recorded 2.2-inches in Richland, with a half-inch at Kennewick. Meanwhile, the new snow snarled traffic in Washington’s mountain passes. The National Weather Services says the mountain passes have received more than a foot of new snow since Saturday. Snoqualmie Pass got 17 inches of snow, and Stevens Pass got 14. Authorities shut down I-90 for about five hours Saturday evening due to bad weather and multiple collisions.
